Southwest Vacation
Had a wonderful time visiting Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California. I painted rocks in the car as we traveled (tricky...learned how to fix mistakes caused by bumps in road) and in the motel room when I had a free moment. I put the name of my facebook group on the rocks also. I left them at gas pumps, sporting good stores, restrooms, ice machines, casinos, sculptures, in telephones. Yep! In the age of cell phones I still found a few public telephones out there. I haven't checked carefully yet on my facebook group to see if anyone responded.
When we were at Cadillac Ranch in Texas, my husband found a big rock from Bullhead City, AZ. Unfortunately in addition to spray painting the Cadillacs someone had painted over the design on that rock. I looked up Bullhead City's facebook group and posted. To my surprise, a few miles down the road we actually went through Bullhead City, so I left a bunch of my rocks there. I watched a woman retrieve one of mine. She worked at the convenience store where I had hidden it a few moments earlier. It was funny because she looked around to see if anyone was watching. and silently slipped it into her pocket as if she were taking something that she shouldn't. Oh well! LOL
Expect more about my vacation later. That is all I have time for today. Have to get to Studio A B See to teach classes and prep for Thursday evening's art show opening. Hope to see you there, Thursday, June 8, 2017 between 6-8 pm.
